The Gray Ox; roaring log fires, gorgeous terraces, great food and beers. What more do you want?
On looking out of the windows of the Gray Ox you would be forgiven for thinking you were in the middle of the countryside miles from anywhere, but the Ox sits no more then 15 minutes from the large industrial towns of West Yorkshire.
Relying on a mix of fresh seasonal, popular and imaginative dishes mixed with relaxed informal friendly service, in a beautiful old pub featuring roaring log fires in winter and beautiful sunny terraces in the summer.
At the Gray Ox, you'll get the warmest of welcomes, friendly service and an atmosphere with real character.
The passion and pride of our chefs not only for taste, but presentation is second to none. From our rich and creamy homemade ice creams to our beer battered fish with proper chips or naughty but very nice puddings; these are all lovingly prepared in the busy hub of the Gray Ox kitchen.
Food at The Gray is best described as Modern British, prepared with expertise and imagination using the best available local produce. The emphasis is on pub classics cooked to bring out the true flavours of the exceptional game, seafood and other raw ingredients we favour. A perennial favourite is our traditional Sunday lunch. Come and eat your fill, then relax with the Sunday papers by the fire for the rest of the afternoon, heaven!
Our wine list is carefully chosen to complement our food perfectly – of course they can all be enjoyed on their own too! The selection of our wines is a labour of love for our team, who work alongside the region's leading independent wine suppliers to bring you the best – from delicious, but inexpensive, house reds and whites up to a special vintages and champagnes to help you celebrate in style.
